I have to choose between these two cameras. They are practically the same price

Thats the canon, 12 megapixels. 12x optical zoom etc. better for Manual Controls etc..

This is the Panasonic

Thats 10 Megapixel, 12x optical zoom, Better video, Better Auto controls and a sexy lens.
